star party!
What was the best part of the star party?
What was your favorite astronomy lesson station? What were they teaching?
How could we make the star party an even better success next time?
The best part of the star party was just hanging out and talking to everyone. As far as the educational factor is concerned the best part was getting to use the telescope to look at saturn. It was the station that you actually did something at instead of just listening to a lesson even though you did learn about the telescope and how it worked. Next time, i would recommend having an interactive activity at all of the stations. It makes it more interesting and would attract students to be more focused on the lessons instead of just talking with friends.
1. The best part of the star party for me was getting able to hang around with everyone and to see Jupiter. 2. I loved the lesson that Shelby's group had because their groups presentation about the moons phases was really great along with Annies groups presentation. 3. For next years star party i would probaly just bring more microscopes since we only had one this year!
The best part was seeing Jupiter I've never seen another planet through a telescope and it was very cool. My favorite lesson was Josh's because I didn't know all that had to do with the stars and he made it easy to understand. Another telescope would be good but overall I really enjoyed it.
The best part of the star party was that we were able to hang out with our friends and learn about the stars and planets all around us. My favorite presentation was the one about the telescope and how it is used. I even got to see Jupiter. My recommendation for the next star party is for there to be clear stations with more interactive presentations. Overall though it was a fun learning experience.
I thought that the star party was phenomenal! I loved how so many people came out and at the same time, there were students teaching others. Having never identified a planet on my own, the coolest part was locating Jupiter. It was so amazing to see a planet that is millions of miles away. One of the coolest lessons that I learned was about the celestial sphere. After being taught the lesson, I realized that people must have this technique because ancient scientists thought the heavens moved. It was very interesting to a hand-held model for the sphere also. Anna, I believe, explained to me in great depth of this concept when I could not comprehend it in the beginning. The star party was pretty amazing. The only thing that could make it better is to have crowd control. It seemed like everyone was coming in and out of the lessons, which made it tough for the astronomy students to teach. Overall, I met great people and enjoyed my time outdoors.
The best part about the star party was that everyone showed up making it such a fun atmosphere to learn about stars and to talk with our friends about everything. Then once we were done with the stations we could just stay and hang with our friends while eating tons of food! My favorite lesson was the one with the Moon because you got to eat an Oreo. They were teaching everyone the different phases of the moon and also how it affects our Oceans tides. The next star party could be a better success by having more telescopes to look at and have it not be on a cloudy night so we can see more stars. It was lots of fun and cant wait for the next party!
For me, the best part of the star party was being able to learn about how the telescope works as well as hanging out with friends. My favorite station was the telescope station because we were able to see Jupiter and learn about the basics of telescopes. I never would've guessed that the massive telescope was only an amateur telescope in the astronomy field! We learned about the basic history of the telescope as well as how it works. To make the whole event better, I would recommend more telescopes/interactive activities. The moon would be a good thing to focus on because it is closer and would be more interesting when viewed through the telescope. Even though we were able to see Jupiter, it still seemed pretty small in the telescope and therefore wasn't as exciting as the moon would've been. Other than the interactive aspects, the star party went very well in my opinion.
The best part of the star party was getting to see all of my ESS friends that are not in my class. My favorite station was the celestial sphere. They taught me how our solar system would be affected if it was centered around the earth. Next time I think there should be someone running the food table so it stays tidy.
The best part of the star party was getting to see Jupiter with the telescope since I've never seen it before. My favorite astronomy lesson was the constellations because I got to learn where they all are and how there are so many and we never notice most of them. Probably for the next star party there should be more telescopes so everybody would get a chance to look at the stars and planets. Also maybe having activities to do at the stations so that people will want to learn more about the subject.
The best part about the start party was being able to get together with a lot of your friends in an environment where you could learn about astronomy and eat and have a good time. My favorite station was the lesson about the moon. It taught the different phases of the moon, and how the moon effects the tides. To make the party even better I think the station could be a little more interesting an attention grabbing to get people to actually visit them and take interest in them.
The best part about the star party was looking through the microscope and seeing jupiter. Its weird knowing how far away it is, but also still visible to us. I also loved how right when I got out of my car I saw a shooting star, it really got me pumped to look at some stars. My favorite station was the teaching of the moon. They taught us different phases of the moon and why it might appear to look a certain way. How we can make the star party more successful next time is not anything we can control, but I feel it would be better if it wasn't as cloudy. Other then that it was a lot of fun!
1. The best part of the star party was hanging out with people and learning about seeing Jupiter through the telescope. 2. The stattion about the lunar and solar eclipses where they sang their songs. 3. More activities!
The best part of the star party was seeing Saturn through the telescope, that was really cool. My favorite astronomy lesson was the moon. I think it's really interesting anyway so it was the coolest for me, and the poster board that they made really stood out and I liked it. For next star parties definetley more telescopes and maybe a fire pit for smores. (too much?) It was awesome!
1. The best part of the Star Party was learning different things about astronomy with all of my friends. 2. My favorite lesson was about the astrological sphere where they taught us where different constellations were compared to our earth. I learned the most from this station and was given a good visual representation. 3. Next time I would have more stations and have more activities that you could be more involved in instead of just listen to the lesson.
1. The best part about the star party was being able to hang out and socialize with people you don't normally hang out with outside of school. I also loved the telescope and being able to look at Jupiter, that was really cool! 2. My favorite astronomy lesson station was the lunar eclipses because they were informative and most entertaining especially when they did their dance that they made up to help remember the eclipses. 3. I think for the next star party we should definitely have more than one telescope and have activities that encourages the students to be more interactive with astronomical topics.
What was the best part of the star party? What was your favorite astronomy lesson station? What were they teaching? How could we make the star party an even better success next time? The best part about the star party was being able to hangout with my friends and learn about the stars. My favorite lesson was the looking at Jupiter though the telescope and learning more about it. We could have more interactive stations. -Leighton Light-
My favorite part of the star party was getting to look at Jupiter up close with the telescope. I also enjoyed hanging out with everyone and eating some snacks. My favorite station was the one where they talked about the moon. Their presentaion was very good. One change I would make for the next star party would be to have the stations be more interactive, and also hqave some bigger tables for the food:)
The best part of the star party was the food. I had a choice of hotdogs, chips and salsa, cookies, marshmallows and many more. I also was really excited about looking through the telescope. I had never looked through one and i got to see an actual planet. The guy that helped me took a while to find the star but i was patient. I got to look at Jupiter and it's two moons. How to make the star party better in the days to come? Let me tell you! More tables for food is a must. Maybe even section off what food should go on what tables, like all the chips, all the cookies. Just a suggestion! Hey just call me up and i'll help you before everyone shows up! :D Also, more teachers with more telescopes. Maybe have at one point everyone gather around and you can talk to us about stars even more. I don't know, just trying to be creative. Ooh maybe we can play a star game like hot potato or something but with an object that looks like a star. Or just any game in general that we can relate back to stars would be AWESOME. Overall I had a lot of fun and i think it's really really neat that we have the opportunity to have these types of party's at the school. :)
1. The best part of the star party was being able to just hangout and talk to everyone. 2. I enjoyed Holts station he was showing a presentation about the moon and its phases. 3. For next years star party I would say to have more interactive activities that students could participate in.
The best part of the Star Party was how laid back and fun the atmosphere was. The best station was the constellation station because it was very informative and learned some small interesting facts I didn't know before. For next time, It would be best to have more telescopes and less clouds. I also think the stations should be more interactive.
What I liked the best was being able to look through the telescope and seeing Jupiter. I liked the station that talked about eclipses. I learned that there are 8 eclipses in total. I don't think the star party could get any better honestly. I had a great time!
The best part of the star party was definitely the telescope and learning more about Jupiter and its composition and actually gettin to see Jupiter and the big red spot or giant storm and learning about its massiveness. The station that I liked the most was the one about the moons and its different phases I really enjoyed it One thing that I would do differently for next year would be to make the stations more noticed to everyone there like in the center of the party not off in the corner because I feel that a lot of people didn't even notice the stations.
I really enjoyed looking theough the telescope. It took awhile to focus but we were able to see Jupiter. It was only one big dot with 2 of its moons visible. I wish that we could see alot more planets but most of them were on the other side of the earth. Another thing I enjoyed was the moon presentation they put together. It was well organized and it looked great. It was really but and I hope that we could do more star parties in the future.
my faverant part of the star party was the telescope looking at jupiter. my faverant astronomy station was the moon it was about all the moons phases. for the next star party we would need more hot dogs.
My favorite part of the star party was being able to see Jupiter threw the Telescope, in addition to getting to hang around with all of my friends. My overall favorite lesson was the =telescope. Learning all about the telescope itself in addition to being able to actually do something as opposed to simply learning. Next time, if I were participating, I'd like there to be more hands-on activities that we could participate in, like games or craft making.
The best part of the star party was the food and friends we got to hangout with outside of school. My favorite astronomy lesson was the constellation station. They taught us that the constellations do not move but since the Earth does we see different constellations year around. Next time the food list should be kept up with so we do not hav just chips and queso and a few other things.
The best part of the star party for me was able to talk to people along with being able to see Jupiter. The lesson that i liked was where they talked about the moon phases. I think that you should make the stations more interactive so that people get interested in what is being taught i would also get more telescopes instead of just one.
The best part of the star party was being able to be with all my friends from other classes and being able to learn at the same time. Being able to see Jupiter was one of the best stations because it was different. But the groups that you actually got to interact and do something was more interesting. For next year, maybe have more stations and get everyone involved more.
1.) The best accomodation about the star party was that it was a cookout party. Food makes any good party complete, especially while were outside and staring at the night sky.
2.)My favorite station was the station with the celestial sphere shown by the plastic ball. I learned that everything around the earth is in exact postition for us to have our seasons and correct balance.
3.)For the next star party i would recommend to possibly add music and or more star related stations. Overall the assignment was fun how it was and i got alot of knowledge out of it.
1. The best part of the star party was Mrs. Anderson's baby Taylor and getting to hang out with everyone. 2. My favorite station was Shelby's station about the moon phases because I already knew some about this subject and they helped me learn more. 3. The star party will be even better when it isn't cloudy
1.)I thought the best part was being with other ESS kids outside of school and getting a chance to look at jupiter! 2.) The group i enjoyed most was Holts group on the moons phases i found it interestin! 3.)I think my friends taking your class next year would probably like to see more than one telescope looking at different stars and constellations! But the snacks and food and all that was awesome!
May favorite part of the star party was just getting together with all of my friends and class mates. It was crazy to see just how many kids took ESS that I would have known about had I not gone. May favorite of the groups had to be the telescope group (as im sure its everyone elses as well). When you first told us that that really bright star in the sky was Jupiter i couldnt believe it! Then i got the chance to look through the telescope and could see Jupiter pretty clearly! Overall i thought the star party was a lot of fun. There really isnt anything off the top of my head that i would say that i would want to change. Look forward to the next one in a couple of weeks.
The best part of the star party was getting to g out and hang out with everyone, the best activity had to be using the telescope because it gave you a hands on activity unlike the others. I learned about the telescope and how it worked. The only thing I would suggest to change for the future star party's is to have each group have some type of interactive part to their stations, it helps you understand things a lot easier and is less boring.
My favorite part of the star party was just being able to hangout and talk to people and go to some of the lessons and see stuff such as jupiter that I've never had the chance to see before through a telescope. My favorite astronomy lesson was the telescope lesson and being able to see Jupiter. They were teaching us how to use a telescope and how to focus it and be able to see planets. Next time to make it even better would make the lessons better and the students be more energetic about it and act liike they want to teach and be there. Otherwise it was a great star party that I look forward to attending again some time.
My favorite part of the star party was the presentation about solar and lunar eclipses. I really enjoyed hearing about all of the cool anomalies that happen out in space. Since my favorite part of the star party was the eclipse station, I have to say it was my favorite station. Eclipses are so rare and cool looking that they amaze me every time I see them. One way that the star party could be improved is to have more telescopes. I think people would have paid more attention if they had been able to look at the stars more often. I did really like the one telescope that you did have, so having smaller telescopes spread around the parking lot would have been really cool.
My favorite part of the star party was being able to learn more about the sky and the stars and how our night sky really effects earth. Also I liked learning about hte telescope and being bale to see Jupuiter. My favorite lesson was learning about the different eclipses because of the way they taught it. They each took turns teaching us about hte different ones and all showed a picture of them and the pictures were really cool to look at. They were very engaging and could answer all of our questions. The only way that we could make it better was if we could learn about the constatlations and try and find the different ones with the app you have on your phone and see if we could find them with the telescope.
1.) The best accomodation about the star party was that it was a cookout party. Food makes any good party complete, especially while were outside and staring at the night sky.
2. My favorite astronomy lesson station was the lunar eclipses because they were informative and most entertaining especially when they did their dance that they made up to help remember the eclipses.
The best thing about the star party was how many people showed up, when I arrived I was not expecting that many people to be there. It was a lot of fun even with the clouds. My favorite station was the Lunar stages lesson. They were teaching all about the phases of the moon and the way they used oreos was pretty cool. The best way to make it better would be to have more food be brought! Also, you could hope there are less clouds next time.
I thought the star party was so fun! The food was so good, especially the queso, :) and I also really enjoyed getting to see Jupiter! I thought the telescope would be a little more high quality but it was still cool beacuse I could see the rings on Jupiter. As far as the stations went, my favorite was the one on eclipses. They were talking about how they occur, the different types, and why they're very harmful to look at. The star party was very successful, but I think to make it even better we should look at different stars in the sky, in additon to different planets. For example, we could find and look at constellations or other popular stars like the North Star. I look foward to the next star party! :)
The best part of the star party is that we got all together, and the food was great. It was also really awesome, because I thought that not many of us would come, but there was alot of us that showed up. My favorite astronomy lesson was when one of the astronomy students talked about the moon, it sounded pretty interesting. I learned new terms that I haven't heard before in that lesson station. They were teaching different parts of the moon phases. I thought that was pretty cool. To make the star party a littly better, I would say we could bring more telescopes, and maybe get more people to cook food not just one.
My favorite part of the star party was how many people were there and how I got to learn about stars and the sky in a fun way. My favorite station was the station where the taught us about the moon phases, because their tri-board was very neat and organized and I enjoyed how they used oreos to explain the process the moon goes through. They taught me how many days are in the cycle and which phases go in which order. The star party would be an even bigger success if there were more telescopes, because I really wanted to see Jupiter but was unable to because everyone else was waiting and I'm not patient enough to wait that long. Other than that I'm excited for the next one. It was a very cool way to get a grade.
My favorite part of the star party was how everyone was required to bring food, so there was enough for everybody. My favorite station was the one where we got to look at Jupiter through the telescope! I found it interesting looking at it's moons and learning about it, and having the ability to look at it in general! To improve the party, I would just have more than one telescope so we could look at more constellations and more people would have a chance to see it!
1. My favorite part of the star party was getting to play with Mrs. Andersons baby Taylor. She was the cutest baby I have ever seen. I also enjoyed seeing my friends and looking through the telescope. 2. My favorite lesson that was presented was the Lunar Eclipse group because they did a dance! 3. Having more telescopes would have made the party better but I thought it was a lot of fun.
The best thing about the star party was that we got to learn about astronomy but in a fun way. My favorite lesson was the moon one. We were able to get good visuals of the moons different stages which really helped. Not only did they teach us about the stages but they also taught us about tides, fun facts, etc. I feel that the star party would be better if it was moved to another day. A lot of people have church events that night so they weren't able to attend.
My favortire part of the star party was probably looking at jupitar. Jupitar was the only planet that we could see at that time and I thought that was pretty cool. It was super bright and you could forsure tell that it was not a star. My favorite astronomy project learning about the different phases of the moon. Their presentation was great because they used oreo's to help the people who are visual learners. To make it better do it on a night where you could see tons of stars.
I thought that the best part of the star party was looking at jupiter. When I looked up into the sky I saw a bright light and did not know what it was so I assumed it was just a bright star. I thought it was awesome how I could see the texture and details. The moon station because I got to interact and listen to what was going on. It was informative because it allowed you to interpret better because you were interacting and that helped keep me engaged. Next time I would recommend that have a number on the food items to make sure that there is enough for how many people go. I thought that the stations were good, but just a thing that could happen is have more stations so that everyone is listening in a smaller group to get more interaction.
The best part of the star party was being able to be with my friends and eat a bunch of different foods and also learn about things I didnt know while having fun doing it. I thought the best station was the telescope station, being able to see jupiter so clearly was amazing and i couldnt believe that it was just a little dot to us but through the telescope it was so much more visible. They taught us alot about the different peices of the telescope, and also what we were looking at. If you were to change something, I would say to add more stations so each station doesnt have 50 people crowded around, some being able to see and some not. But overall it was very fun and I learned alot.
My favorite part of the star party was being able to chat with all of my friends. I was especially impressed by the view of Jupiter through the telescope. So I would have to say that my favorite station was the telescope one. They were basically teaching about how far away Jupiter is away from the Earth and just facts about it. One thing that would make the star party even better than before would be more telescopes.
My favorite part of the star party was being together with all my other fellow other ESS friends and my favorite teacher mrs. binder
My favorite station would have to be Shelby's because I learned so much about the moon's phases that I didn't know before. They did a great job describing the phases and giving us cool interesting facts and making the station very entertaing :)
The star party was great! I wouldn't change anything except next time maybe having more telescopes
The star party was a lot of fun because we were able to learn more about Jupiter and the moon while having fun and socializing. I really enjoyed learning about the different stages of the moon and what each phase looks like. The star party would have been better if there were more interactive activities and more telescopes. Overall is was a fun way to learn more about astronomy.
The best part of the star party was that we got to hang out with everyone from my class and other classes and also being able to see Jupiter. My favorite lesson was the one that went over the moon and tides. The students talked about the different phases of the moon and how the tides on the moon effect each one. it was really cool how they used oreos to demonstrate what each phase looked liked, they were great examples. A way to make the party better is to have the party more organized. The star party was really fun and interesting.
The best part of the star party was getting together with a multitude of different students and sharing the common enjoyment of looking at stars. I really like the group that showed us Venus, because they were very knowledgeable and it was such a cool sight! The star party could not have been any better, but I hope we continue to have them over the course of the year.
The star party was a great experience! It was such a different way of learning and really made you interact with other students. My favorite part of the star party was looking through the telescope and hearing about the different phases of the moon. I thought it was creative that they used Oreos to help teach us about the different phases. It was so different and I hope we can have another one soon. It would be nice to see more stations though.
My favorite part of the star party was being able to learn about stars in a fun and interactive way and being able to see Jupiter. My favorite station was Shelby and Shane's station learning about the moon phases. The star party would be a little better if there were more telescopes. There were a lot of people wanting to see Jupiter. Besides that, it was a lot of fun and a good way to learn the information
The Star Party was really fun! The best part was hanging out with friends and filling my tummy with fooood:) The most eventful station is learning about the telescope and seeing Jupiter! To make things more interesting, I think there should be more stations where the students could actually be involved.
The best part of the star party was getting to hang out with everyone, have a good time, and eat delicious food all while learning! It was a very good, fun learning environment. I really enjoyed the station about the moon. We learned about its phases and why it appears that way, I really enjoyed it! Next time it could be better if there were no clouds but we can't control that!
My favorite part about the star party was that everyone from all the ESS and astronomy classes were together and hanging out while learning in a fun, interactive way. My favorite lesson was at the station about eclipses. They taught me all the different types of eclipses, what they were called and what they looked like. One way to make it better next year would be to possibly get everyone in a circle for a little bit and have a speaker like an astronomer talk to us and teach us fun facts we might not have known about the stars and space. Overall though I thought it was a really great way to learn.
I spent most of my time at the station where you could look at Jupiter through the telescope. I'm sure they had plenty of interesting things to say about the telescope and refraction and reflection and everything but I honestly didn't pay attention to a word they said. I was much more interested in looking at Jupiter. I was a little underwhelmed at first, because it was so tiny in the lens. It was much more impressive when I thought about the fact that I thought Jupiter was just another star before looking through the telescope. Being able to see its rings was actually really cool. I think next time we should do the star party on the night of a full moon.
The best thing about the star party was the fact that I decided to try a tofu dog. To my amazement they were actually really good. My favorite station was where we learned about the "amateur telescope" (that is a big and expensive telescope for it to be an amateur telescope). It was cool to see Jupiter with that thing. To make the star party better i would either have more grills for food or have the lessons be a little bit more interactive with us. It also was a little hard to get a friend to go since a lot people go to church that night. But overall it was a fun party to be at.
My favorite part of the star party was just being able to hang out with friends, teachers and classmates outside of school.
My favorite station was the large telescope. I've never seen Jupiter that close, and it was especially cool that we could see 2 of Jupiters moons.
Next time, I would hope for more hands-on activities that get us involved in seeing the stars/planets. Also, maybe split up the classes into different star parties so it isnt as clustered and busy everywhere.
The best part of the star party was definitely the food!!! And the fact that I could chill with people. My favorite astronomy station was the station that was talking about eclipses; they were very concise and knowledgeable. For future star parties, I think there should be more telescopes so that all students can see the starry night
The best part of the star party was getting the chance to learn about astronomy. The station that I enjoyed the most was the eclipse station. They taught us all about the different types of eclipses and what they look like. But my favorite part of their station is the song they sang at the end. To make the star party even better, next time there should be even more telescopes and a better night to see everything.
My favorite part of the Star Party was learning about eclipses from people I knew. So not surprisingly, that was also my favorite lesson. The girls there did a really good job of teaching me about the different types of eclipses like Solar and Lunar, and the differences between the umbra and penumbra. They even had a funny dance that helped people to learn about the different types of eclipses. I think having the party in a place with less light, like Wagon Wheel Park would help people see more stars and experience the Star Party better.
I thought the best thing about the party was seeing Jupiter. Jupiter was fascinating to look at because we could see the rings. I thought the moon lesson was the best. I thought the way they represented each phase of the moon was quite innovative. They displayed the information in a way that was creative and interesting. I thought the party would've been better if there was more telescopes. One telescope isnt enought for that many people.
The star party was alot of fun. Even though it was cloudy and there were not very many telescopes, it was still very interesting. My favorite part was looking at Jupiter near the school. It was really intriguing the way the group explained the planet at night like that. The colors of the planet were so clearly defined. There were also dots around the planet that I assumed were moon. Regardless whether they were or not, it was still really cool. For the next star part, I would suggest having more telescopes, and if possible moving away from the city and going to a more rural community. That would enable us all to see much more stars at a higher definition.
The best part of thea star party was getting to look at the Jupiter, learn a little about outer space and other atrological topics and the food of course. My favorite station was definitely the moon station where the group used Oreos to represent the different faces of the moon. It was really creative and a very good way to represent the moon in all it's phases. The only thing I would change about the star party would be doing it on a night where the stars are more visible so we have alot of different things to look at.
To me, the best part of the star party was being able to be with all of the ESS students and just to have a good time with them, but also learning with them at the same time. My favorite station was the eclipse station because personally, I find them extremely interesting and am fascinated by them; the astronomy students were talking about how they were formed and why you shouldn't look at them, and entertained us with their dance that helped us remember the eclipses. I think that overall the star party was a lot of fun and a success, but I think for the next star party we should have more telescopes so more people are able to look at Jupiter.
Honestly, the best part was the food. Davis can make some solid queso. Oh looking at Jupiter was cool too i suppose:) The best station was the telescope station where you could actually look at Jupiter, I thought it was swell to learn about the telescope and Jupiter was clearer than I thought it would be. Next time it should be in a less lit area and there should be a separate telescope for the moon
My favorite part of the star party was just being outside with all of my friends with an opportunity to learn, eat and just hang out. Seeing jupiter was also great. My favorite lesson was the one about the telescope. I leaned how heavy and powerful it was, but how nasa doesnt use anything like that one. I wish it could have lasted longer. I also think more stations and more telescopes would have made it much better.
The best part of the star party had to be all the information I gained from attending the fun social and educational gathering. All the adults there knew so much about space and stars, and it was really great getting to hear them speak about all the knowledge they withold. My favorite station was the lunar moon stages because they involved the audience, and used oreos to keep the audience entertained and involved. The only thing I could think of that could make this star party better was if there were more telescopes the students could use to look and explore space.
The best part of the star party was everyone getting together and learning. It was a huge turn out and everyone was going to the different stations and eating. My favorite lesson was the phases of the moon, they had a poster which had a demonstration with oreos on it. The idea was really clever and facts were also included. Something to make the star better better for next time would be to have more than one telescope. Also music would add a good effect, according to Paige Jacobs there was no ketchup for the hot dogs.
My favorite part of the star party was not only just hanging around with a bunch of people eating food and just having fun, but also getting to see Jupiter through the Newtonian telescope. My favorite astronomy station was the eclipse station. I thought it was cool that they added a funny portion to there lesson by adding a dance. I think that the party was great, but next time incorporate more stations and more telescopes.
The best part of the star party was the food! I love food and they had some great food there. It was a fun night for sure but I wish we could have looked into the telescopes and see the moon up close. My favorite part of the astronomy stations was the moon station. They talked about the different eclipses and how not to look into them because you could go blind. That was very helpful information because I really don’t want to go blind. My favorite part of that station was when they sang a song about the moon and did a cool dance to it. I think the star party could be better if we picked a night that there was not clouds.
The best part of the star party was probably just being around everyone and being able to hang out! It was also really neat to see Jupiter up close I just it wasn't as cloudy! My favorite astronomy lesson was the different phases of the moon with Shelby Shane and Holt because their poster was really presentable and had a lot going on! They explained it very well too and used some jokes in their presentations to lighten up the mood. I think a good way for the star party to improve would be to add in a couple more telescopes that way we're not all waiting for everybody on the one telescope. Also maybe have some more ketchup because when Kara and I were eating out hot dogs their was no ketchup, it was a real disappointment. Other then that it was a GREAT NIGHT! :)
The best party of the star party was being able to learn all the information from the astronomy kids that we wouldn't have otherwise, and free food. I liked the telescope station, it was really informative and interactive and held my interest. I know you can't control this, but less clouds would be nice and maybe a better set up for the stations. It would be nice if all the stations were a bit more interactive. Some had great information, but couldn't really hold my interest.
The best part of the star party was looking through the telescopes because I have never lookin through one before. My favorite station was the Jupiter station because you could see it and 2 of its moons. I think we could make it better if you had more telescopes to look through.
The best part of the star party was seeing Jupiter as a banded orange circle through the telescope. I was surprised that we were able to get such a clear image of it. I also loved how great of a turnout was and being able to talk with my friends from other ESS classes. Every party is better when lots of people show up.
My favorite Astronomy station was the Newtonian Telescope station. It was more interactive than the other stations. After teaching us about the parts of the telescope (scope, mirrors, eyepiece, focuser, etc.) we all got to explore how they work on on our own. I was also surprised to learn that the telescope is over 50 years old and that just a single drop of liquid getting inside of it would cause severe damage.
The star party would've been better if there were more telescopes and if it was a clearer nighr. The star party didn't have a whole lot of stargazing because there was just one telescope for 100+ people. Another improvement that could be made is to organize the food/drink assignments better. At the end, there were still tons of chips and cookies left over but we only had 4 hamburgers from the start.
The best part of the star party was that we got to spend time with people from all the other classes, it was a fun way to learn. The best station was definitely the constellation station, where I learned that constellations are just areas of the sky with individual star formations within them, not the actual star formations themselves. The instructors had a sphere with formations marked on them so the visual aid helped a lot. I felt like I pretty much knew what the other stations were teaching, but I had no prior knowledge about this station. I think if there were more telescopes, more people would have the opportunity to use them and see the planets. I know because of the clouds we had a few telescopes fall through, so next time I hope it works out for us to use the couple other ones. All in all, the star party surpassed my expectations and was really fun!
I thought the best part was being able to learn about this kind of stuff and being able to be with friends while doing it. My favorite station was the one where they taught you how to use the telescope and you got to look at Jupiter through it. I thought that it was very successful as a party, and I can't think of any way that it could be made better. The only bad part was when we ran out of hotdog buns.
For me, the most enjoyable part of the star party was learning more about how we can view Jupiter from our place on Earth. This was by far my favorite station, because of the sheer size and beauty that Jupiter was when I looked through the telescope. The group that ran the Jupiter station also did a very good job of informing their audience about what they were viewing in the telescope. For the next star party we should learn how to configure the telescope to see planets in our night sky.
What was the best part of the star party? I enjoyed learning more about space and the planets. Hanging out with friends was a nice bonus too. Seeing Jupiter and its two moons was really cool and I feel fortunate to have seen such a distant planet. My favorite station was one where I learned about the alignment and how the Earth has a role in the whole scheme of things. The group did a great job in explaining it all.
ReplyDelete1. The best part of the star party for me was getting able to hang around with everyone and to see Jupiter.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was that we were able to hang out with our friends and learn about the stars and planets all around us. My favorite presentation was the one about the telescope and how it is used. I even got to see Jupiter. My recommendation for the next star party is for there to be clear stations with more interactive presentations. Overall though it was a fun learning experience.
ReplyDeleteI thought that the star party was phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteThe best part about the star party was that everyone showed up making it such a fun atmosphere to learn about stars and to talk with our friends about everything.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the best part of the star party was being able to learn about how the telescope works as well as hanging out with friends.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was getting to see all of my ESS friends that are not in my class. My favorite station was the celestial sphere. They taught me how our solar system would be affected if it was centered around the earth. Next time I think there should be someone running the food table so it stays tidy.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was getting to see Jupiter with the telescope since I've never seen it before.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about the start party was being able to get together with a lot of your friends in an environment where you could learn about astronomy and eat and have a good time. My favorite station was the lesson about the moon. It taught the different phases of the moon, and how the moon effects the tides. To make the party even better I think the station could be a little more interesting an attention grabbing to get people to actually visit them and take interest in them.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about the star party was looking through the microscope and seeing jupiter.

ReplyDelete2. The stattion about the lunar and solar eclipses where they sang their songs.
3. More activities!
The best part of the star party was seeing Saturn through the telescope, that was really cool.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite astronomy lesson was the moon. I think it's really interesting anyway so it was the coolest for me, and the poster board that they made really stood out and I liked it.
For next star parties definetley more telescopes and maybe a fire pit for smores. (too much?)
It was awesome!
1. The best part of the Star Party was learning different things about astronomy with all of my friends.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteWhat was your favorite astronomy lesson station?
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was the food.
ReplyDeleteHow to make the star party better in the days to come?
Love you Mrs.Binder!
-Priscilla Dasilva
1. The best part of the star party was being able to just hangout and talk to everyone.
ReplyDelete2. I enjoyed Holts station he was showing a presentation about the moon and its phases.
3. For next years star party I would say to have more interactive activities that students could participate in.
The best part of the Star Party was how laid back and fun the atmosphere was.
ReplyDeleteThe best station was the constellation station because it was very informative and learned some small interesting facts I didn't know before.
For next time, It would be best to have more telescopes and less clouds. I also think the stations should be more interactive.
What I liked the best was being able to look through the telescope and seeing Jupiter.
ReplyDeleteI liked the station that talked about eclipses.
ReplyDeleteThe station that I liked the most was the one about the moons and its different phases I really enjoyed it
One thing that I would do differently for next year would be to make the stations more noticed to everyone there like in the center of the party not off in the corner because I feel that a lot of people didn't even notice the stations.
ReplyDeletemy faverant part of the star party was the telescope looking at jupiter. my faverant astronomy station was the moon it was about all the moons phases. for the next star party we would need more hot dogs.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was being able to see Jupiter threw the Telescope, in addition to getting to hang around with all of my friends. My overall favorite lesson was the =telescope. Learning all about the telescope itself in addition to being able to actually do something as opposed to simply learning. Next time, if I were participating, I'd like there to be more hands-on activities that we could participate in, like games or craft making.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was the food and friends we got to hangout with outside of school. My favorite astronomy lesson was the constellation station. They taught us that the constellations do not move but since the Earth does we see different constellations year around. Next time the food list should be kept up with so we do not hav just chips and queso and a few other things.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party for me was able to talk to people along with being able to see Jupiter. The lesson that i liked was where they talked about the moon phases. I think that you should make the stations more interactive so that people get interested in what is being taught i would also get more telescopes instead of just one.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was being able to be with all my friends from other classes and being able to learn at the same time. Being able to see Jupiter was one of the best stations because it was different. But the groups that you actually got to interact and do something was more interesting. For next year, maybe have more stations and get everyone involved more.
ReplyDelete1.) The best accomodation about the star party was that it was a cookout party. Food makes any good party complete, especially while were outside and staring at the night sky.
ReplyDelete2.)My favorite station was the station with the celestial sphere shown by the plastic ball.
ReplyDelete2. My favorite station was Shelby's station about the moon phases because I already knew some about this subject and they helped me learn more.
3. The star party will be even better when it isn't cloudy
1.)I thought the best part was being with other ESS kids outside of school and getting a chance to look at jupiter!
ReplyDelete2.) The group i enjoyed most was Holts group on the moons phases i found it interestin!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was getting to g out and hang out with everyone, the best activity had to be using the telescope because it gave you a hands on activity unlike the others. I learned about the telescope and how it worked. The only thing I would suggest to change for the future star party's is to have each group have some type of interactive part to their stations, it helps you understand things a lot easier and is less boring.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was just being able to hangout and talk to people and go to some of the lessons and see stuff such as jupiter that I've never had the chance to see before through a telescope.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, it was a lot of fun to be able to hang out with the entire ESS class and not limit it to who ever we have it with.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the station about the different moon phases. I'm really interested in learning more about the moon; I find it fascinating.
You should make it mandatory for Bowden and Vergien to be there.
My favorite part of the star party was the presentation about solar and lunar eclipses. I really enjoyed hearing about all of the cool anomalies that happen out in space.
ReplyDeleteSince my favorite part of the star party was the eclipse station, I have to say it was my favorite station.
ReplyDelete1.) The best accomodation about the star party was that it was a cookout party. Food makes any good party complete, especially while were outside and staring at the night sky.
ReplyDelete2. My favorite astronomy lesson station was the lunar eclipses because they were informative and most entertaining especially when they did their dance that they made up to help remember the eclipses.
3. More activities(bounce houses)
The best thing about the star party was how many people showed up, when I arrived I was not expecting that many people to be there. It was a lot of fun even with the clouds.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite station was the Lunar stages lesson.
ReplyDeleteI look foward to the next star party!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was how many people were there and how I got to learn about stars and the sky in a fun way.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was how everyone was required to bring food, so there was enough for everybody.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite station was the one where we got to look at Jupiter through the telescope!
ReplyDelete2. My favorite lesson that was presented was the Lunar Eclipse group because they did a dance!
3. Having more telescopes would have made the party better but I thought it was a lot of fun.
Finally figuring out where Venus was (on the other side of the earth) had to be my favorite thing.
ReplyDeleteLunar Eclipse station because they were cracking me up with their dancing skills.
To have more telescopes on a clearer night. And maybe be in a less lit of area.
ReplyDeleteMy favortire part of the star party was probably looking at jupitar.
DeleteI thought that the best part of the star party was looking at jupiter.
DeleteThe best part of the star party was being able to be with my friends and eat a bunch of different foods and also learn about things I didnt know while having fun doing it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was being able to chat with all of my friends. I was especially impressed by the view of Jupiter through the telescope. So I would have to say that my favorite station was the telescope one. They were basically teaching about how far away Jupiter is away from the Earth and just facts about it. One thing that would make the star party even better than before would be more telescopes.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was being together with all my other fellow other ESS friends and my favorite teacher mrs. binder
ReplyDeleteMy favorite station would have to be Shelby's because I learned so much about the moon's phases that I didn't know before.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was that we got to hang out with everyone from my class and other classes and also being able to see Jupiter.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was getting together with a multitude of different students and sharing the common enjoyment of looking at stars. I really like the group that showed us Venus, because they were very knowledgeable and it was such a cool sight! The star party could not have been any better, but I hope we continue to have them over the course of the year.
ReplyDeleteThe star party was a great experience!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was being able to learn about stars in a fun and interactive way and being able to see Jupiter. My favorite station was Shelby and Shane's station learning about the moon phases. The star party would be a little better if there were more telescopes. There were a lot of people wanting to see Jupiter. Besides that, it was a lot of fun and a good way to learn the information
ReplyDeleteThe star party was a great experience!
ReplyDeleteThe Star Party was really fun! The best part was hanging out with friends and filling my tummy with fooood:)
ReplyDeleteThe most eventful station is learning about the telescope and seeing Jupiter!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part about the star party was that everyone from all the ESS and astronomy classes were together and hanging out while learning in a fun, interactive way.
ReplyDeleteI spent most of my time at the station where you could look at Jupiter through the telescope.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about the star party was the fact that I decided to try a tofu dog.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was just being able to hang out with friends, teachers and classmates outside of school.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite station was the large telescope.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was getting the chance to learn about astronomy. The station that I enjoyed the most was the eclipse station. They taught us all about the different types of eclipses and what they look like. But my favorite part of their station is the song they sang at the end. To make the star party even better, next time there should be even more telescopes and a better night to see everything.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the Star Party was learning about eclipses from people I knew.
ReplyDeleteI thought the best thing about the party was seeing Jupiter.
ReplyDeleteThe star party was alot of fun.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of thea star party was getting to look at the Jupiter, learn a little about outer space and other atrological topics and the food of course. My favorite station was definitely the moon station where the group used Oreos to represent the different faces of the moon. It was really creative and a very good way to represent the moon in all it's phases. The only thing I would change about the star party would be doing it on a night where the stars are more visible so we have alot of different things to look at.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the best part of the star party was being able to be with all of the ESS students and just to have a good time with them, but also learning with them at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the best part was the food. Davis can make some solid queso. Oh looking at Jupiter was cool too i suppose:)
ReplyDeleteThe best station was the telescope station where you could actually look at Jupiter, I thought it was swell to learn about the telescope and Jupiter was clearer than I thought it would be.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party had to be all the information I gained from attending the fun social and educational gathering.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was everyone getting together and learning.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the star party was not only just hanging around with a bunch of people eating food and just having fun, but also getting to see Jupiter through the Newtonian telescope. My favorite astronomy station was the eclipse station. I thought it was cool that they added a funny portion to there lesson by adding a dance. I think that the party was great, but next time incorporate more stations and more telescopes.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was the food!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was probably just being around everyone and being able to hang out! :)
ReplyDeleteThe best party of the star party was being able to learn all the information from the astronomy kids that we wouldn't have otherwise, and free food.
ReplyDeleteI liked the telescope station, it was really informative and interactive and held my interest.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of the star party was seeing Jupiter as a banded orange circle through the telescope. I was surprised that we were able to get such a clear image of it. I also loved how great of a turnout was and being able to talk with my friends from other ESS classes. Every party is better when lots of people show up.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Astronomy station was the Newtonian Telescope station.
ReplyDeleteThe best station was definitely the constellation station, where I learned that constellations are just areas of the sky with individual star formations within them, not the actual star formations themselves.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the most enjoyable part of the star party was learning more about how we can view Jupiter from our place on Earth.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the best part of the star party? I enjoyed learning more about space and the planets. Hanging out with friends was a nice bonus too. Seeing Jupiter and its two moons was really cool and I feel fortunate to have seen such a distant planet. My favorite station was one where I learned about the alignment and how the Earth has a role in the whole scheme of things. The group did a great job in explaining it all.
ReplyDeleteHow could we make the star party an even better success next time?
